The Digestive Endoscopy Department is run by Prof. Agr. Dr. Daniel Taullard and it diagnoses and treats ailments in the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, colon, bilious tract and pancreas.
The physical area of the department is not only designed to maximise the quality of professional attention, but it also takes into consideration the patients’ comfort.
There are two theatres for the endoscopes, a waiting room for the patient and a companion, a reception office and a recovery area. It has a latest generation video endoscope with electronic magnification and modification of the images which improves visibility and, consequently, the diagnosis of lesions in the digestive tube.
The equipment also permits samples to be removed for biopsies as well as allowing therapeutic treatments to be done to certain ailments that previously required operations.
