Admission procedure for users and companions

According to the last regulations set by the MSP, based on the pandemic current events, new care measures are established for the admission to the Hospital.

When attending to the consultation remember:

• To wear a facemask all the time.

• To use hand sanitizer when entering the Hospital.

• To avoid attending with companions.

• To keep social distance.

• Not to have respiratory symptoms or fever.

• Not to have been in recent contact with a Covid patient.

Visitors and companions

• Restriction of the number of companions to 1 person at the hospitalization room and during emergency consultations, the relative or companion must remain at the waiting room wearing a face mask permanently (the patient cannot have a companion in the box but for exceptional cases or in the case of underaged patients).

• In rooms, the relative or companion must be permanently wearing a face mask and an over-tunic which should remain on the room's coat rack to be used again during the hospitalization.

• Washing hands before entering. Do not use gloves as it gives the feeling of false security and does not replace hand washing.

• To not have respiratory symptoms or have been with someone with the disease without consulting.

Patients

All patients must wear a face mask during hospitalization (except contraindication), specially when they are assisted by the healthcare team.

• Regular hand washing. The use of gloves is not recommended as it can give a false sense of security and does not replace the need for hand washing.

• A swab test for patients that have a surgery and hospitalization coordinated, indicated by the head doctor. In case of emergency, it will be done from the emergency service or from the hospitalization area that is indicated.

• Swapping is not necessary for outpatients, chemotherapy, or other clinical tests.

These measures have been implemented to maximize the care in the current context. The British Hospital gives us the tranquility of always being prepared and taking care of every detail for its users and their families.
