Main features of the coverage

Expenses related to scheduled inpatient surgical procedures that may be performed in Uruguay or abroad.

Up to US$ 1,000,000 for hospitalisation and expenses in surgical procedures and up to US$ 100,000 for oncological treatment.

Plans with deductibles of US$ 5,000 and US$ 10,000.

Assistance service for an accompanying person of US$ 200 per day for up to 30 days.

Cover is subject to prior coordination by the BSE, which pays the costs directly to the provider. Expenses are not reimbursed.

Insured mothers may apply for antenatal cover without exclusions, provided they have completed at least 10 months of affiliation with the insurance at the time of application.

The maximum age for enrolment is 60 years.

Pre-existing conditions are fully or partially excluded from this cover.

How to obtain cover

Applicants must download, complete and submit the duly signed SWORN DECLARATION FORM to the Hospital Scheme office, together with the SQ LETTER and a photocopy of their identity card.

Requesting cover

A medical indication for a surgical procedure or oncological treatment is the only requirement needed. Members must then contact the Hospital Scheme Membership Department to arrange the corresponding coordination.

Treatment abroad shall only be covered if previously authorised and coordinated through the Hospital Scheme office and subsequently approved by the BSE.
