The Unit of Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology is under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alejandro Scaramelli, who together with Dr. Cecilia Orellana prepare the medical reports.
The studies carried out in the Unit include:
Standard EEG, with sleep deprivation or induced sleep, and/or with intermittent light stimulation.
This study is especially useful for distinguishing epileptic seizures from other types of episodes and for providing a more precise characterisation of the syndrome.
A comprehensive test used to study sleep patterns. It is often recommended for people with suspected sleep apnoea, excessive daytime sleepiness, or different types of insomnia.
