Emergency Department (A&E)
The Emergency Department at the British Hospital works under the TRIAGE system where care is classified by the severity of the patient’s condition.
Triage is performed by a licensed nurse, who directs patients to the appropriate level of care according to their needs.
The department is staffed 24/7 with on-call internal medicine physicians and paediatricians, as well as specialists in surgery, gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, ENT, and standby coverage for other specialities.
There is a dedicated area for young children with low-complexity cases, where they can wait and play in a relaxed, comfortable environment designed specifically for them.
To further improve care and prioritise urgent cases, an innovative scheduling system has been implemented for low-complexity cases, helping organise attention efficiently.
The service provides differentiated care for both paediatric and adult patients, covering high- and low-complexity cases. Certain specialities are permanently available in the department, while others are consulted as needed.
