On the14th of June was commemorated the World Blood Donor Day. This year under the slogan “Share life – Donate blood” the WHO, the World Health Organization aims to raise awarness to the population on the importance of blood donation alluding the lives that have been saved thanks to voluntary donation. On this day, the Hospital Transfusion Medicine Department gave an allusive gift to all people who came to donate blood. Since 2005 the British Hospital has been promoting voluntary blood donation through the club "Donante Solidario" which is exclusive for Hospital Scheme members. Through it and by an annual donation, blood is guaranteed to donates and to their families in case it is needeed.
