Every year from the 1st to the 7thof August the Breast feeding Week is celebrated in more than 170 countries. On its commemoration the British Hospital carries out awareness campaigns aimed at the healthcare team, pregnant women and breast feeding mothers. Based on this aim, during last week in the Hospital took place upgrading workshops on Breast feeding, lead by the Nurses Cecilia Riccetto and Virginia Jiménez, staff members of the Lactation Polyclinic and Maternity respectively. The meetings were aimed at Maternity Nurses, Neonatal Unit, Pediatrics and Emergency Service. During these meetings besides strengthen the information and unify criteria, participants could move through the Hospital history in this subject by knowing the progresses and achievements. In addition to this, during the week, mothers who are hospitalized in our Maternity received an educative guide with content especially selected and produced by the Nutrition and Diet Therapy staff members, and the Hospital Breast feeding Polyclinic besides gifts alluding to the occasion. On the other hand, our pregnant members and breast feeding mothers are invited by the Hospital to participate in a new gastronomic workshop MOM Gourmet especially for them which will be lead by the Chef Diedo Ruete, with the especial participation of the Breast feeding Polyclinic, the Nutrition area and Diet Therapy, trying to provide a multidisciplinary approach of the subject.
